rag doll reunites Lloyd-Hughes with AMC Networks and Sid Gentle Films after playing Aaron Peel in season 2 of Kill Eve. The hit spy thriller originated on AMC Networks’ BBC America and also aired on sister network AMC.
Adapted for television by Freddy Syborn from Daniel Cole’s novel The Six-Part rag doll is described as a modern-day Faustian thriller. It revolves around the murder of six people whose bodies have been dismembered and stitched together into one grotesque body – dubbed “The Ragdoll”.
Attributed to the shocking case are DS Nathan Rose (Lloyd-Hughes), recently reinstated at the London Met; her best friend and patron, DI Emily Baxter (Teixeira); and the unit’s newest recruit, DC Lake Edmunds (Hale). The “Ragdoll Killer” taunts the police by sending them a list of his next victims, with Rose’s name at the very end. With victims to protect, our heroes soon come under intense public scrutiny. A horribly imaginative serial killer thriller, rag doll also captures the fascinating but flawed friends grappling with the aftermath of institutionalization and trauma.
