Move over, A. There’s a new nasty plague Pretty little Liars‘ Lucy Hale and this one’s crafty in a much fiercer way: The killer in the new British thriller rag doll stitched the dismembered parts of his victims into a single human-shaped horror corpse. It’s a sight to see and forget as soon as possible.
Based on Daniel Cole’s bestselling novel and created by the executive producers of Kill Eve, the six-part series is steeped in suspense, humor and insight. The action opens with the discovery of a cross-stitch corpse by London detective Emily Baxter (Thalissa Teixeira), her PTSD-haunted former partner turned subordinate Nathan Rose (Henry Lloyd-Hughes), and American rookie Lake Edmunds (Hale). Before you can say “That thing must stink,” the hunt is on for a serial killer.
But it’s not just your ordinary maniac, nor your cookie-cutter crime drama. Who’s behind the murders is Hannibal Lecter – smart and determined to terrorize Rose, potentially due to his role in a botched case years earlier that torpedoed the detective’s career. And the tone of the show itself is at times so unexpectedly cheeky, you almost forget the terrifying fact that the trio are racing against time to catch the culprit, who has sent them a kill list of their next batch. of targets… including one of their own. Plus, you’ve never seen Hale in this kind of role – it’s so far from his usual rom-com work, and it’s a revelation.
TV Insider recently spoke with the trio about this disturbing, witty, and darkly addictive tale, their characters’ individual issues, and what it was like to spend so much time with a prop that will pretty much live on in our lives. nightmares for years to come.
